Private Pay- Out of Network Provider (OON)

I am a private-pay, out-of-network provider. This means I do not bill insurance companies or Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) directly. If you have out-of-network benefits, I am happy to provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

Many insurance plans reimburse a portion of the session fee, although coverage varies widely. I encourage you to contact your insurance company to learn more about your out-of-network mental health benefits.

Why I Choose to Remain Out of Network

Choosing not to participate in insurance networks allows me to focus on providing thoughtful, individualized care without many of the restrictions imposed by insurance companies.

Some of the benefits include:

• Greater privacy. Insurance companies typically require a mental health diagnosis and treatment information that become part of your medical record.

• Treatment tailored to you. Rather than meeting insurance requirements, we can focus on what is most helpful for your unique needs and goals.

• Flexibility. Therapy is guided by your progress rather than limits on the number or type of sessions covered by an insurance plan.

Payment

A credit card is securely stored on file before your first appointment. Your card will be charged following each session.

Cancellation Policy

Appointments may be canceled or rescheduled up to 48 hours in advance without charge. Exceptions may be made in cases of serious illness or emergencies. Missed appointments or cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice are charged the full session fee.

Sliding Scale

I reserve a limited number of sliding-scale appointments for clients with limited financial resources. Because these openings are limited, reduced fees are based on overall financial circumstances and ability to pay rather than temporary changes in income alone.

If cost is a barrier to treatment, I encourage you to let me know. I'm happy to discuss whether a sliding-scale opening may be available or explore other options, such as adjusting session frequency or providing referrals when appropriate.
